Part-Time Business and Finance Virtual Class Instructor and Tutor for Florida State Contractor Licensing Exams (Spanish/Bilingual)

 

Job Description Overview:

We are in search of a dynamic and highly qualified bilingual (Spanish/English) instructor to teach virtual classes via Zoom, aimed at preparing candidates for the Florida state contractor Business and Finance exam. This role entails leading interactive online sessions and delivering clear, comprehensive instruction on business and finance topics relevant to the construction industry, all conducted in Spanish. The instructor will play a pivotal role in guiding students to successfully navigate the exam's open-book format, aiding them in effectively utilizing the resources available to pass the exam. Additionally, the instructor will be required to conduct private tutoring sessions on an as-needed basis to provide further support to students in their exam preparation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver live virtual classes on relevant business and finance topics for the Florida state contractor licensing exams, conducted entirely in Spanish.
  • Develop and present effective and up-to-date course materials that meet the standards set by the state of Florida.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to enhance their understanding of key concepts.
  • Stay abreast of changes in licensing requirements and examination procedures to ensure course content is current.
  • Collaborate with the curriculum development team to identify areas for improvement and continuously update course content, with consideration for Spanish-speaking students.
  • Provide additional assistance to students as needed, including individual tutoring and answering questions outside of scheduled classes, in Spanish.
  • Meet established deadlines and maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress. 

 

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English, oral and written.
  • Florida contractor license currently held or previously obtained.
  • In-depth knowledge of business and finance concepts relevant to the construction industry, especially in the context of regulations and practices in the state of Florida.
  • Previous experience as an instructor in the construction field, a plus.  
  • Ability to communicate clearly and adapt course content to meet the needs of different learning styles.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students, fostering a collaborative and participatory learning environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Availability to teach two 4-hour classes per month, along with flexibility for conducting private tutoring sessions on an as-needed basis. 
  • Possession of certain construction trade licenses may present opportunities for teaching trade-specific classes.

 

Location: Remote, based in Florida
